Art In The Park

Attended the Los Altos Rotary Art Show this Sunday. Always a wonderful feeling meeting artists, seeing their creativity, and chatting with them about how and what they do. It soothes the soul.

One artist I met only works with colored pencils. Her drawings are as close to real life as it gets. I couldn’t stop staring at the drawings amazed that colored pencils could produce such artistic delight for the eyes.

Another artist I met works with fused glass. She takes pieces of glass, fuses them together, cuts them into small shapes, and multicolored jewelry is born. Each pendant and earring is unique. Never thought glass could be so beautiful with innumerable gradients and patterns.

Let’s see what else they had… ceramics, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, textiles, watercolor, and wood. Some of the sculptures were tall metal structures like human stick figures. Others were large stone fountains with water flowing down the rippled edges.

It was a lovely day. The soul was soothed through artists and their art. Went home and back to the world of technology.
