Cardamom Air Freshner

Threw a party at my home and went about cleaning up the next day.  Pulled out my new Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner and started with the living room carpet.  I moved the red machine back and forth and watched it pick up something or the other. It roared and whistled along.

Suddenly, the whole living room filled with the smell of cardamom.  With the screaming red machine in my hand, I stood confused for a nanosecond.  The change in the atmosphere made no sense.  Then it hit me.  The vacuum cleaner had sucked in a piece of cardamom.

My friends and I had eaten the cardamom raw and had also used it in the South Asian style chai tea the previous night.  Some guilty party had unknowingly thrown a piece on the living room carpet in the middle of the noisy party festivities.

Staring at the vacuum cleaner, my mind pictured the piece of cardamom being split by the red machine’s power as it was sucked up the cylinderical shaft.  The poor piece of cardamom was forced to radiate its aroma.  I inhaled deeply and smiled.

* Note: cardamom (called ‘elaichi’ in South Asia) should be bottled and sold as an air freshner.  Need an entrepreneur to take on the idea and pitch it to Febreze et al.
